Net Skim is a universal skimmer pre-filter. It fits all pool skimmer and spa baskets on the market (up to 24 cm in diameter). The Net Skim filter sock is very easy to use and makes pool maintenance simpler. It ensures better water filtration without clogging the filtration system.
Why should I use Net Skim® when every skimmer already has a basket?
The skimmer basket is really just a kind of strainer whose holes let through much of the debris that reaches the surface of your pool water (pine needles, plant debris, insects, pollen, hair, …).
As this debris builds up in the main filter, it clogs your filtration system, considerably reduces its efficiency and can even damage your pump.
The Net Skim® pre-filter traps and lets you regularly remove all debris down to 250 - 300 microns, keeping your pool clean.
The Net Skim® pre-filter is designed to be fitted and removed very easily on all types of basket (skimmer baskets and pump baskets), up to 24 cm in diameter, with or without a handle, whatever the make and model of your pool.
If the basket handle is removable, take it off, fit the pre-filter and then put the handle back. If the handle is fixed, fit the pre-filter over the handle; this does not affect the efficiency of Net Skim®.
What is the clip for the bottom of the basket for, and on which types of basket is Net Skim® used?
When the pump stops, the water that is no longer being drawn in tends to flow back into your pool skimmers. The clip holds the Net Skim® pre-filter to the bottom of the basket to prevent the mechanical effects of this backflow, which would stir up the debris in the skimmer and could send it back into the pool.

How long does a Net Skim® pre-filter last, and can it be cleaned?
Using the Net Skim® pre-filter keeps your pool clean and perfectly hygienic for ten to fifteen days, depending on the surroundings (lawn, trees, …) and how often the pool is used. After that, the mesh may become blocked, reducing the efficiency of the Net Skim®.
It is recommended to check how full the pre-filter is from time to time and to replace it before it becomes completely clogged
Washing the pre-filter is strongly discouraged, as this considerably reduces its filtration capacity. Instead, remove the largest debris from time to time (pine needles, or leaves after a strong gust of wind, for example) to extend the life of a Net Skim® pre-filter. However, impurities and pollution can eventually clog it, which prevents filtration: your pool water is then no longer as clear.
Can Net Skim® help me save money?
The products you use to maintain your pool (chlorine, bromine, PHMB, …) react chemically with the dirt in the pool water, which is broken down and turned into fine, biologically inert particles.
These chemical reactions use up the products, so consumption is directly proportional to the amount of impurities in the water.
By letting you remove the bulkiest debris easily and regularly (instead of letting it collect in the main filter), the Net Skim® pre-filter helps you effectively limit your chemical consumption and improves both pool cleanliness and water quality.
Cleaning your pool's main filtration system (sand filter, diatomaceous earth filter, cartridge filter, fabric bag filter, …) requires a large amount of water to be circulated and sent straight to the drain (1 to 2 m3 of water per cleaning).
Because it prevents the filter from clogging, the Net Skim® pre-filter lets you clean less often and so save water, while keeping your pool perfectly hygienic and the water quality optimal.
Why does the Net Skim® pre-filter improve water quality?
Debris that falls onto the surface of your pool (pine needles, insects, plant debris, pollen, hair, etc.) is drawn in by the pump and trapped in your filtration system (sand filter, diatomaceous earth filter, cartridge filter, fabric bag filter, …), where it is broken down by the chemicals you use to maintain your pool. This waste then turns into fine, biologically inert particles that return to the pool, cloud the water and clog your main filter again.
Using the Net Skim® pre-filter lets you regularly remove this bulky dirt before it is destroyed by the chemicals, limiting your consumption of maintenance products while improving pool cleanliness and water quality.
